Monday’s Fashion Files circle the globe. United Bamboo and 3.1 Philip Lim will host sample sales this week to aide the Tsunami Relief fund, Anna Wintour poses in mod for the Wall Street Journal (take a look at her in the 90′s, too!), Christie’s will be hosting an online auction, Hedi Slimane debates and an array of other spectacular finds!

1. Rumors circulate around Hedi Slimane. Will he design again or replace Galliano at Dior? Over the past few years, Slimane has been pursuing fine arts like photography and sculpture. Slimane clarified for The Guardian:[Fashionista]

“I really love to design but when it’s a big luxury house there is so much things around the design. Like the global branding, like the window displays. Oh, it’s so much. You just have to be happy doing it. If you’re not, you’re really miserable. And I have no intention to be miserable. I miss the fabrics and I miss the atelier. But if I really miss it that much, I would have started again already.”

2. Anna Wintour in the 90′s. Look at that bob, and the mesh inserts![Tumblr]

3. Anna Wintour agrees to pose for the cover of Wall Street Journal. The focus of the feature will be on Wintour’s business dealings, inside and outside of Vogue.[WSJ]

4. Dubai covers up Gisele Bundchen on her H&M ad. A spectator noticed that Gisele looked a little different in the Dubai version of her spring line compared to the U.S. The site mused that perhaps the changes were made to meet the demands of the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council Companies like Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, etc.)[Fashionista]

5. Greenpoint’s Domestic Construction Studio releases woven mats. Known for their meticulous woven murals adorning places such as Brooklyneer and Anthropologie, Domestic Construction has released a series of digitally dyed flood mats. These mats are machine washable and come with rubber backing. Perfect for any kitchen or doorway area! [TheCut]

6. Lady Gaga poses for Mario Vivanco for i-D. I’m not too sure about the cheekbone implants, but I’m all for the calm color tones. [TheCut]

7. Model of the moment Arizona Muse lands a high profile campaign for YSL. After featured on every catwalk and having an issue of Dazed and Confused dedicated to her, Arizona stars in a new YSL film directed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. The video is shot in black and white and recalls sexy 70′s glamour. [CatwalkQueen]

8. TopShop recruits New York based jewelry designer Pamela Love. Rumors were first heard in September when Pamela arrived front row at a Topshop Unique show. Now, her Native-American and aborigine inspired designs will be making their way on the site in no time! [CatwalkQueen]

9. Kittinhawk’s Crystalline Collection evokes the magical, yet edgy aspects of jewelry. Features: crystal quartz, bones, metallic spikes, and black chain headpieces. Check out the collection. [WeAreSelecters]

10. Berlin based designers Julia & Ben debut their S/S’11 look book: Absorbed Landscapes. Faded western backdrops blended with the earthy tie-dye shirts and transparent knitted skirts. By the looks of it, many of the pieces are unisex, which gives an advantage to Julia & Ben because androgyny still preoccupies street wear. [WeAreSelected]

11. Spring/Summer 2011 Issue of Vogue Hommes International…Jaw dropping. Lust- highly detailed, diamond encrusted pants with alternating spike patterns.[FuckingYoung]

12. Andrej Pejic’s sculptural spread in Dazed and Confused merges fashion with art. Unusual material projects off the model’s body and encompasses a futuristic look. The models body parts are sometimes completely encased in rock, spiked metal, or plastic. [Styleite]

14. Tuesday, March 29th, at Rockefeller Center, Christie’s will be launching an online auction called Bid to Save the Earth. You’re not required to come to New York to bid, though. Start now on www.charitybuzz.com. All proceeds will go to the NGO initiatives affilliated with Bid to Save The Earth. Some of the most fabulous prizes include: Two front-row tickets to Chanel’s 2011 Spring RTW show, a meet-and-greet with Karl Lagerfeld, a private tour of Coco Chanel’s apartment and the atelier, and a five night stay at the Ritz in Paris. Bon voyage! Plus, a private consultation with Diane Von Furstenburg, and a Carolina Herrera wedding dress! Dream auction. [Vogue]

15. Daniel Silberman teams up with DJ Jus Ske to create a waterproof line featuring handcrafted umbrellas and UV impenetrable sunglasses. There is an enlightening touch to each piece, “so the umbrella carrier can feel a little happier when they’re out in the rain,” as Silberman says. [Vogue]

16. Lindsay Lohan for Ungaro hits Ebay. Remember the hot pink pasties and mini dresses that dominated Ungaro’s runway when Lohan had a hand? Slowly, but surely, they’ve filtered out of Saks, Neiman Marcus, and various boutiques, and have made their way on E-bay. If you were one of her greatest supporters, now’s your chance to own a piece of Lindz. [Elle]

17. Michelle Obama Rocks Rachel Roy at the Palacio do Planalto. The first lady wears a “wall print” one sleeved dress. Love the muted beige and cream undertones. [Racked]

18. Seven years after launching the Sutras collection with H. Stern, Furstenberg has added eight new diamond-inlaid rings. Von Furstenberg comments about the shape:

The movement within the gold alludes to sensuality and natural feminine forms.

Individual inscriptions like love, laughter, and harmony are engraved on the back of each pendant as a tribute to the power Furstenberg sees in both words and gold. Prices range from $3,200-$8,200.[NYT]

19. Contego Eyewear launches eyewear named after Nobel Prize Winners of Literature. I’ll have the Hesse, please (he did write Siddhartha, and all). As Sara Zucker says it, “literary street cred.” For real. [SaraZucker]
